Amanda and Ryan
On September 9th, 2014, Amanda Spencer and Ryan Thomas became husband and wife with their little daughter, Addison. Amanda had a style of simple rustic country which works well with the barn and all its features. She was very anxious to have the wooden benches that we created from old barn rafters for the wedding area by the pond. They weigh 200 pounds each with a length of 15 feet. We used hay bales to set them on with the help of our Bobcat. Amanda and Ryan both enjoyed our new “old hedge posts” swings frames we built just before their wedding. Again, very heavy and can only be moved with a Bobcat. Both are permanent features to use.
The couple worked hard several days in the most humid weather to decorate the barn. The day of rehearsal brought a very heavy down pour of rain along with wind but later cleared to get a couple of rehearsal runs in. This lead to the most beautiful weather on the day of the wedding – it was cooler with NO humidity and it went off without a hitch!
“Thank you so much for everything you guys did. So many people told me that was the best wedding they’ve been to and how amazing your place is :)”
Thank you, Amanda and Ryan for choosing The Old Homestead Barn and Pond to begin your new life as a husband and wife. Enjoy the video.
